Friday night I'm laying on my bed and all of a sudden I look up and there's this bat flying circles around my room, sometimes within inches of my head. After waiting for it to settle down I was able to capture it, but it begs the question: How the hell are bats getting into my house? This is the third time! I know my tenant twice had to capture bats.
Does anyone know anything about bats?
Maybe they think you're batman
Or in your case bat girl LOL!

Through attic vents?
We had a bird fly down an air vent, and was trapped behind the wall in my son's room. We opened up the air vent into his room and it flew out. It was difficult getting it out of the house, poor thing.
When I was young a bat flew into my parents' house. We stunned it with hair spray and tossed it outside.
Maybe you should put up a bat box to give neighborhood bats a place to stay. It is good to encourage bats, they eat a TON of insects.
More great ways to cook your bat

You may have tried kangaroo, crocodile or even camel ? but have you tried fruit
bat?
The commercial harvesting of bats is being suggested as a way to manage their numbers in the Northern Territory. Some places, such as Jabiru, have large bat populations and the animals are considered a pest.
So if we?re going to be eating bats, what?s the best way to cook them?
Ingrid Just challenged Jacko Angeles, bush chef for Message Stick on ABCTV, to find some tasty recipes!
According to Jacko, there are many different ways to prepare bat. Fruit bats are eaten by some indigenous groups in the Territory and cooking them over hot coals is the traditional way.
When cooked on the coals bat meat is slightly stringy and has a smoky, chicken-like taste. Skinning the bat first means you don?t get any of the crispy skin, but the remaining white meat can be stewed or stir-fried. Here are Jacko?s bat recipes:
BATS AND BALLS
Cook your bat whole over the coals, adding the edible pandanas nuts, which look like small balls. Flavour with a little salt.
BATS IN THE BELL-FRY
Skin your bat. Prepare the meat into bite size pieces. Stir fry with ginger, garlic and onion in a wok or other bell-shaped pan. Add bush tomatoes, soy sauce and hoi sin sauce and vegetables if you like.
(FLYING) FOX TROTTERS
Skin your bat.
Place in a steamer pot with pig?s trotters. Steam the meat, adding onions and other vegetables to your liking.
WARNING
Bats are dangerous to handle as they can carry diseases such as the fatal Lyssavirus. Bat meat must be cooked thoroughly to reduce the risk of
disease. Any bites or scratches should be washed thoroughly with soap and water and you should contact a doctor or the nearest Centre for Disease Control as soon as possible. The offending bat should be sacrificed and placed in a freezer for examination by the State or Territory Veterinary Laboratory.

How about some battered bat!
Or under glass
Maybe a peanut butter and sammi
YOu could have a play with them.
You could do...
"Bat on a hot tin roof"
or
"The Bat of seville"
or
"Bats"
You could have a bat circus as well.

When I lived in the LeBlond Mansion (I was a caretaker, it's really St. Ursula Villa school) part of my job was to do the walk-around at night, make sure the windows were closed, etc.
So one night I'm in the basement, it's pitch black. I have to feel around for the light-switch. I hit it, and immediately the entire hallway lights-up, and coming towards me at eye-level is a bat. Now, in all honesty, I quickly turned off the lights and ran up the stairs like a scared b****.
But when I tell my friends that story, I usually sex it up by adding parts about blood dripping from its mouth, me running towards it, hitting it with my fist, it dropping to the ground smashed by my punch, then me frying up the SOB on the skillet and having Trav and Gae over for a feast.
But they told us not to do anything with them because they keep the bugs under control. I have a frog living in the mulch at my new house, and same thing, they told us to leave him alone and he'll eat the bugs. So we'll see, he's on my probation watch....
Here's my bat story...
I'm living in my 90 year old house for one week and my new tenant has just begun to move her things in to the second and third floor. One night I'm in her mostly empty space installing smoke detectors.
I look at the few posessions she's moved and notice that she must be an avid book reader. Lots of books. As I'm perusing the books I can't help but notice she has an affection for vampire novels.
I'm getting kind of squeamish, wondering what kind of tenant I've just signed on. Plus my house is kind of spooky. A close friend tells me it feels like a place where there was a murder.
Eeeewww.
Anyway, I finish installing the detectors on the second floor and I head to the third floor.
I flip the switch...no light.
I remember that the light fixture has a switch on it, so I head in the pitch black to flip that switch. Just as I'm flipping the switch something flies right past my head in the dark.
I go literally screaming down the steps, scared as shit, thinking my tenant - the vampire novel lover - is keeping a bat as a pet.
Yes, I honestly thought she had a pet bat.
Reason (I'm sorry, but you will always be the voice of Reason to me):
That post had me giggling like a schoolgirl.
So gothic.
And the close friend, did she have .... Wiccan tendencies?
Would she perform a hex-for-hire? Would it be worth the hire?
